l declino economico e la povertà sono in aumento vertiginoso nella società
iraniana. La repressione socio-economica e politica, aggredisce le vite e rende
impossibile il sostentamento di milioni di lavoratori e le loro famiglie in
tutto il paese. In tali circostanze, gli operai iraniani, negli ultimi anni,
hanno costantemente organizzato proteste, manifestazioni, scioperi rivendicando
i loro diritti di lavoro e leggitimi. Tuttavia, le loro rivendicazioni non sono
mai state risposte dal governo iraniano e le condizioni economiche e di vita
dei lavoratori sono drasticamente deteriorate.
Dall'inizio di novembre di quest'anno, gli operai del complesso di
zuccherificio di Haft-Tapeh a Shush,
nell'Iran sud-occidentale, hanno scioperato e manifestato in fabbrica e davanti
all'ufficio del governatore rivendicando gli stipendi non pagati e protestando
contro i soci corrotti della fabbrica e anni di mala-gestione avvenuta a
seguito della privatizzazione dell'azienda.
Il 13 e il 14 novembre, gli insegnanti di tutto il paese hanno lanciato una
seconda ondata di sciopero nazionale per protestare contro salari bassi,
discriminazione, privatizzazione dell'istruzione pubblica e arresto degli
attivisti insegnanti.
La risposta del governo iraniano alle proteste pacifiche degli operai e
degli insegnanti è stata la repressione e la crescente misure di sicurezza che
hanno portato all'arresto e all'emissione di sentenze pesanti per decine di
operai e insegnanti.
Domenica scorsa, le autorità iraniane hanno arrestato quattro operai mentre
i locali si sono uniti alla manifestazione degli operai dello stabilimento di
Haft-Tapeh. Esmail Bakhshi, Mohammad Khanifar, Moslem Armand e Seyed Hassan
Fazeli sono i nomi degli operai arrestati e trasferiti in un luogo sconosciuto. Una giornalista di nome Sepideh Gholian è stata arrestata insieme agli operati.*
Mentre Mohammadreza Ramezanzadeh, Saeed Haghparast, Ali Forootan, Hamidreza
Rajayi, Hossein Ramezanpoor, Pirooz Nami, Ali Karooshat, Mohamad Robati, la
signora Vaezi, Mohammad Ali Zahmatkesh, Mohammad Kord, Fatemeh Bahmani,
Mohammad Habibi, Mahmoud Beheshti Langaroudi, Ruhollah Mardani, Esmail Abdi,
Abbas Vahedian, Mohammad Saleh Shokri, Mohammad Sadegh Shokri e Abdolreza
Ghanbari sono tra gli insegnanti arrestati per aver protestato pacificamente.
Sottolineando l'urgenza di aderire agli impegni nazionali e internazionali
da parte della Repubblica islamica dell'Iran, compresi le Convenzioni OIL 98 e
78, e di consentire agli operai e insegnanti di esercitare il diritto di
organizzarsi e manifestare liberamente, chiediamo a coloro che credono nella
giustizia sociale e che vogliono la libertà degli operai e insegnanti
imprigionati, di impiegari tutti i mezzi a loro disposizione per attirare
l'attenzione sulla condizione degli operai e insegnanti iraniani.

* il 22 nov 2018 sono stati liberati Mohammad Khanifar, Moslem Armand e Seyed Hassan Fazeli. Resta in carcere Esmaeil Bakhshi, il rappresentante del Consiglio Autonomo degli Operai dello Zuccherificio di Haft-Tapeh, e la giornalista Sepideh Gholian restano in carcere.

Economic decline and poverty
are soaring in the Iranian society. The socio-economic and political
repression, attack the lives and livelihood of millions of workers and their
families across the country. Under such circumstances,
Iranian workers, have been constantly organizing protests, rallies,
strikes in the past years demanding
their labor and legal rights. However their demands have never been fulfilled
by the Iranian government and the economic and living conditions of workers
have drastically deteriorated.
Since early November this
year, workers of the Haft-Tapeh sugar mill complex in Shush, southwestern Iran,
have been picketing in the factory and in front of the governor’s office
demanding unpaid wages and protesting against the coruption of factory owners
and years of mismanagement, following company’s privatisation.
On 13th and 14th Novembre,
teachers across the country launched a second round of nationwide strike
protesting against low salaries, discrimination, privatisation of public education
and arrest of teachers activists.
The response of the Iranian
government to the above peaceful protests has been crackdowns and increasing
security pressure resulting in the arrest and the issuance of heavy sentences
for tens of workers and teachers rights advocates.
Iranian authorities arrested
four workers on Sunday as locals joined striking Haft-Tapeh sugar workers in
mounting protests. Ismaeil Bakhshi, Mohammad Khanifar, Moslem Armand and Seyed
Hassan Fazeli are the names workers arrested and taken to an unknown location. A female giornalist, called Sepideh Gholian, was also arrested together with the workers.
While Mohammadreza
Ramezanzadeh, Saeed Haghparast, Ali Forootan, Hamidreza Rajayi, Hossein
Ramezanpoor, Pirooz Nami, Ali Karooshat , Mohamad Robati, Mrs. Vaezi, Mohammad
Ali Zahmatkesh, Mohammad Kord, Fatemeh Bahmani, Mohammad Habibi, Mahmoud
Beheshti Langaroudi, Ruhollah Mardani, Esmail Abdi, Abbas Vahedian, Mohammad
Saleh Shokri, Mohammad Sadegh Shokri and Abdolreza Ghanbari are among the
teachers arrested for having peacefully protested.
While emphasizing the
urgency of adhering to national and international commitments of the Islamic
Repubblic of Iran, including ILO Conventions 98 and 78, allowing workers and
teachers the right to organize freely, we call on those who believe in social
justice and who want the freedom of imprisoned workers and teachers, to work through whatever means available to
them to bring attention to the plight of Iranian workers and teachers.
